Jilin Petrochemical Company is one of the world leading PetroChemical industries.  For the Incineration of their Waste Water they signed a contract with the American Company PPC, for the delivery of a Waste Water Boiler in 2018.

As the Waste water has a high content of SO2 / SO3, Jilin Petrochemical Company signed a contract for the delivery of a 100% dry absorption / desulphurisation plant with Filcon Environmental Engineering (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.


Due to the new Chinese Governmental Emission Standards, Jilin Petrochemical Company required a Technical Solution,  fulfilling all emission demands, described in the table below:

Filcon solution and Scope of supply:

Due to the high Boiler capacity / Flue Gas Volume and flexibility during all operational conditions, Filcon supplied four Filter modules of our unique Round structure with a total area of 7,620 m2 for dust Cleaning and dry Absorption.

As the Flue Gas Temperature during maximum condition ca reach 300 dgrC, Filcon supplied a cooling tower, securing the optimized temperature for the injection of the Sodium Bicarbonate (SBC) and projecting the Filter media for a long lifetime.

To keep full flexibility, the plant is equipped with two SBC silo’s, each handling three classifier mills (total 6 pc.) and injection systems for the injection of SBC into the four Reactors, placed in front of each Filter module.

The complete installation is meeting the high requirement of safety from Jilin Petrochemical Company and is equipped with both Emergency cooling system as well as a complete bypass system.

For the regulation and optimization of SBC consumption, Filcon supplied a CEMS system for both Raw- and Clean gas measurement.

Carrying out:

The complete installation / commissioning was carried out in a close cooperation between Jilin Petrochemical Company, Jilin Design Institute and Filcon.

Essential parts, was delivered from Denmark (Europe), and all main components, incl. steel constructions where manufactured locally, as well as the insulation and installation, was carried out by local suppliers, according to the mechanical and electrical supervision by Filcon staff.

All Electrical (MCC) and control cabinets are placed in the lobbies of the four filter modules and connections to the central DCS system.

The CEMS system is delivered in a separate housing, placed close to the ID-Fan foundation.

The start-up of the entire plant was done in a close cooperation between the operational staff of Jilin Petrochemical Company and Filcon‘s electrical Engineers.
